Confused

Can't say I'm surprised, but still. Bummer.

You're lucky that you can't hear it.

I hope the whole album will be a way better than this lousy boring track.

Better than imagined, but nothing special at all. Especially a full-length would bore me to death.

I'll stick to my demo bootleg vinyl, the ONLY real stuff of Pestilence you need... Razz

I admit it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.
But not all that spectacular.
The lead solo has a whiff of 'Spheres'.

Tony Choy???
I heard one audible cool lick at 2:45 - 2:48
The myspace describes the record as technical?
Any cheesy generic unique leader band would
pummel this to the ground.
Same repetitive riffs, (ok for Xasthur, not for this)
I'm sure they will play some festivals and get a few bucks out
of this. Then pfffffffffffffffffffff.

It's pretty alright actually. People are just overeacting since this band is one of the "resurrected" ones.

I'd say the new Asphyx was easily on par with their first two.

This on the otherhand! I don't understand this technical tag at all! It sounds like throw away riffs from Testimony of the Ancients with piss poor vocals, and awful sounding triggered drums.

Better than I expected. With a more old school production I think I'd quite like this, although it's nothing incredible. My main complaint (aside from the production style) is that structurally there's very little happening here - I hope Mameli didn't write every song like this ("hey, this riff is pretty cool... let me come up with some lyrics and some kind of chorus thing... alright, done!").
