I always thought the CD was sped up and the speed of the LP is correct.

The vinyl version of WFG live 83 was fine. It was the first press that was pressed with the original slow master. Buried By Time and Dust was in charge of speaking to the band and they didn't say anything so we went with the slow master.

It is incredible none of you realized about that sped problem. It is so fucking evident!

My brother got me a copy of the Master of Puppets 45 RPM remaster for Christ-mass, and in the middle of Orion it has this weird uniform ridge in the vinyl that makes it pop and skip for maybe 20 seconds, the needle jumping everywhere. It looks like a big, thick track division, and it's really fucking annoying. Any of you guys have any idea what the problem with this is?

Candlemass "King of the Grey Islands". Side 1 sounds horrible, like there is tons of dust on the needle. The other 3 sides plays fine. Very annoying Mad

'Rabid Death's Curse' new picture disc version through Noevdia sounds completely crap. I'm sure that this was not intentional though. Noevdia delivers quality all the time. Maybe some problem occured with the master tapes-cd.

Pic-disc usually sounds like a crap, they just looks cool.

Nothing is better than heavy (180 grams) black vinyl.

Picture LP's are known to have more surface noise than usual. There are even warning stickers stating that picture LP sound quality differs than regular wax. On the other hand, there are picture LP's that actually sound almost as good as regular vinyl records.

A master cd is that which is given by the band or the sound engineer to the label and subsequently to the pressing factory in order to have the material released. It is the one that gets ripped by the producer from the studio console.

I was joking. I know what a pre-master is. I just thought it's either tape or cd...

Mine sounds good...but yeah, pic discs "catch" dust easier than normal vinyl...

I agree, I have Nachtmystium's - Reign of The Malicious on pic disc and also Morbid Angel's - Altars of Madness and they sound fine quality-wise.
