Really into the late 70s-mid 90s stuff a lot, and the recent Pic lp reissues are great, especially "Blackmass" with all those curvy chicks on the back Exclamation
How does the 1977-1984 LP compare to the "Horned God of The Witches" 2LP btw? I'm interested in tracking down the 77-84 one, but won't bother if its the same recordings for the majority.

I wish I knew. I have the Story of Death SS on CD, but not the other one, which I need to get. I'm pretty sure most of the tracks are the same. But after comparing the track lists, I'd say both are essential to own.

If you ever get a chance to hear that super rare 7" they did. It is killer! Good luck trying to find it for less that $150 though.

Both "The Horned" and "the Story" are compilations of old tracks, but Horned contains unpublished stuff. You kust get also "Horror Music" cd/lp. Actuallly you should get al the stuf up "Do what thou wilt"

This is 'Chains of Death' you're talking about i take it? Two of the best ever Death SS songs on there in my opinion. The 'Horned God..' DLP has live versions of those tracks, are these tracks on the 'story of...' studio versions?

The studio versions, yes. This disc is essential if you like Death SS.

The Story of Death SS is (I believe)

Horned God of the Witches demo (tracks 1-2)
Demo II minus "Kings of Evil" (tracks 3-5)
"Evil Metal" 7" (tracks 7-9)

Plus previously unreleased stuff.

I can't remember if it is explained in the liner notes. The CD is upstairs and I'm too lazy to look right now.

A reissue of this disc is still in print on an Italian label called Fuel.

Damn, I went to go find you some distro links, thinking the last time I checked there were a lot of those available. I guess I was wrong and those went quicker than I expected...glad I picked up the Black Mass disc early.

SS's english skills are almost non-existent, at least they used to be.
