Any fans here of this type of music? I'm talking about bands like Forbidden Citadel of Spirits, Vetala, Mons Veneris, Darkness Enshrouded the Mist (Black Cilice also falls into this category I suppose, but I don't want this to turn into a Black Cilice thread because they're fairly well known). Forbidden Citadel of Spirits is my favorite of the ones I've listed but these are pretty much all the ones I know of. Recommend some bands, discuss bands I've listed/ones other people list, and talk about what you think about this obscure type of black metal.

In my opinion, this is the perfect "production" for Black Metal. Forbidden Citadel of Spirits is killer. So much stuff too.

Woddrea Mylenstede is excellent. And perhaps early El-Ahrairah.

Good bands listed by the OP. I would say SVEST is, to me personally, the epitome of noisy black metal without being too noisy. Like for example, a band like Tetragrammacide can be labeled a noisy BM band, but most would find them to be almost too noisy.

Even some demos by Grausamkeit can also be noisy.

If you like FCoS I'd recommend giving Carved Cross a shot. MN of FCoS is the guitarist. They have less of a sinister vibe a La FCoS and more of a droney, hopeless and sorrowful sound about them. Still very noisy and raw though, for sure.

Here's a YT link to their full length: https://youtu.be/E9PI-jhybNU. Truly an underappreciated band in my opinion.

Forgotten Spell gets my recommendation. They remind me a little of SVEST although that band is probably impossible to clone. I've been listening to this LP a lot lately.

The Triumph of Satanic Beliefs demo by NIIGHT is pretty damn noisy and evil. Here's a sample for you...

Echoing the Forgotten Spell recommendation. The epitome of noisy, swirling black metal chaos!

Absolutely. I remember the times when "poor" production was celebrated as something "positive" by the Black metal "community", and a "good production" album was considered sub-par. I can't point exactly when this tendency turned 180š Confused

Satanize is cool too, looks like this is a thing in Portugal. Good for them.

"Shameless self promotion" here, cause I love black metal when itīs too noisy and distorted for most and I have released some of that filth on Bestial Burst:

VALTAKUNTA (FIN)
http://bestialburst.com/valtakunta.mp3

MASOKISMI (FIN)
http://bestialburst.com/masokismi.mp3

No fun for moshers there!

After the overflow of badly produced mediocre black metal between 2001 and 2011 or something? Noisy shouldnīt mean mediocre and weak, like many of the bands of that era were (by being sheep like followers of the "standard" set by others). In noisy and/or primitive black metal the vision and execution is even more important than elsewhere. Itīs not mediocre black metal with crappy sound, but something fucking genius with a fitting production! Now the noisy/necro production ainīt considered a standard anymore, so there is a better % of truly great artists left in the hall, using noisy production as part of their art and not a frame set by others.

Good band you never hear much about!

I usually enjoy this kind of stuff and need to check out the bands mentioned that I don't know. The first thing that sprang to my mind was Nyogthaeblisz but I doubt anybody here needs to be told about them.
