I tend to dislike Ed Repka works because they're too corny and cartoony. I could think of many better ways to portray an album called "Evil Dead - Annihilation Of Civilization", but it's cool and well done none the less. Maybe it fits well to the crossover style they had after all. Vio-Lence was kinda cool as well. |
I would assume the band or label gave Ed Repka an idea of what they wanted for the art. Besides what the end result was, he's still a great artist. |
Yes, no doubt- a great artist, technically (maybe also visually, who knows?). And I can understand the circumstances, but I can't help there's something cheap and bland about his works. _________________ Good/Bad traders list

Yeah it's a good album but the cover is obviously done to shock and a bit much. Was that woman a murder victim some sick guy cut open? _________________ Music, Movies, and Video Game Reviews at my website.

Like I said, he was a very good artist, but he wasn't very inspirational. You can see, many of his artworks feature a guy showing the scenery on front for various artists. That's what I call "cheap" and rehashing, though technically the artwork is always really well done.. _________________ Good/Bad traders list

Well a lot artists follow a similar style or pattern.. Think about bands you like, movies, painters, etc. this is common. Perhaps you can respect his artistic qualities but not his end results? It was 80s thrash though. Keep in mind. |

Blablabla....of course, Ed Repka's work is great!
If you know the 80ies only by hearsay, you better don't comment them. |

I'm not generally a fan of most of Repka's covers either, but some of his work is great, and the Scream Bloody Gore cover is one of my all time favorites. _________________ Planet Earth is great to visit but you wouldn't want to live there |

"Kafkaesque Retribution" is quite a mind blowing title though, you've gotta give them that. |

Any album cover featuring members of the band. With the only exceptions (that I can think of) Live in Leipzig and Transilvanian Hunger. _________________ Todays modern science is your modern religion. |
