I myself use a new sleeve every time I open my vinyl up. You see I bought a kitchen devise used to seal baggies of frozen food air tight and under vacuum, I use this to seal my vinyl in a vacuum sealed bag so that the album will last longer.

This is hilarious! Actually, I would recommend that people do this with their pre-90s CDs, as they are far more likely to suffer from deterioration problems after so many years. I think vinyl has stood the test of time--my dad has LPs 50 years old that play as good as new. Just replace your stylus every year or so and you should be fine.

I also use gloves, surgical gloves, the un-powdered kind when I handle my vinyl so as not to leave fingerprints or other debris behind on the albums.

I also installed a specific light bulb that I use when taking the vinyl out of the sleeve. The UV rating on this bulb is vinyl approved by the vinyl associates of Alberta Vinyl Industries. The bulb is a near black styled light that I use special glasses worn to help see what I am actually doing since this bulb is so dark.
Something like only bats or serpents can see in this light... I intend to make my collection last forever.

Wow...it is something between sick and needs of a shrink or a collector's mania thing...hehe...nah, I just try to be careful and have clean hands.
