I donīt really care for supposed "circles" these days, but at least TTF, LLN and Blazebirth Hall were collectives of musicians / individuals which worked together in different constellations.
And I donīt want to miss any one of these three.

From the newer bunch, BTC and Order Of The Nonagram carry on this collaborative tradition in a good way. But I donīt really see which bands belong or not belong to those other circles.
Portugal has spawned some damn fine Black Metal in recent years like Morte Incandescente, Irae and Black Cilice, on the other hand a lot of those bands which seem to belong to the "Black Circle"
are horrendously bad in my opinion (Vetala and Mons Veneris), and Iīve worked myself through a lot of their material in form of demo tapes, EPs and albums because I admire their sense of visuals and was hoping to find Black Metal of a deeper value.
But ultimately, it had no substance at all.

BTW, add the Teutonic Brotherhood to the list! Mad

I think BBH, BTC, and LLN are all valid choices. Don't know which I'd pick.

I almost went with LLN but while I love some albums as all-time favorites, there just aren't enough to put them ahead of other circles. I tried to look at consistency as much as quality

If there was an option for Finland, I would pick that... I think that country produces the highest quality bands out of anything I've heard. Though I don't know if they have technically had a "circle".

With that said, choosing from the options provided, it is a tie between BBH and LLN.

That's true. I'd probably put VT as the best band of any of the circles, but there are so many terrible LLN projects that released one or two indecipherable, shitty demos, so it drags down the circle. It's a tough call.

what about Ross Bay Cult and associated bands?
if we're really playing black metal magic cards here, their beating factor would be +5 damage to poseurs

I'm very surprised that Black Twilight Circle has more votes that Blazebirth Hall and Temple of Fullmoon. Doesn't make any sense to me, not even close to as good as either, but thats just my opinion.

All the Nidrosian bands appeal to me highly so I picked that. I guess that makes me a trendy hipster.
