Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus: Not a wasted note on this one. I reckon this will always be my paradigmatic reference point for doom metal.

The Gates of Slumber - The Awakening : Probably my favorite modern take on the doom metal genre. It has a raw production that accentuates a unique blend of Sabbath groove, Vitus dirge, and faster metal tempos.

High on Fire - Surrounded by Thieves : The perfect synthesis of Sabbath, Celtic Frost, early Slayer, Motorhead, and Venom. I also get Voivod vibes from this album for some reason.

Pagan Altar - Vol 1 : What can you say that hasn't already been said about this gem? So perfect that it almost gives it an aura of sanctity.

Rainbow - Long Live Rock and Roll: Dio and Blackmore's finest hour, IMHO.

Sodom - In the Sign of Evil: The only black metal album I ever really need, if it came down to it.

Don't know if it's been posted before but I consider sathanas "armies of charon" to be a flawless album. Very underrated as well.

Hehe, never heard of that band but they sure look tough. I'll check if it's still for sale somewhere.

Love that album too, dunno if it's flawless but definitely underrated. Great fucking drum sound to boot! That's also the only Sathanas I still have along with the Bathym split.

I think it could be argued quite convincingly that Running Wild released perfect albums through at least Death or Glory.

Gonna get flack for this, but...

Darkthrone - Goatlord

One of my top 5 favorite albums. Love the atmosphere, and Fenriz's' vocals are killer.

Good call. The Glinting Spade is pretty flawless too, in my opinion.
