I'd prefer this to be released on vinyl but, anyway, these are goods news for sure, at least for me.

On October 1988 S A M A E L released their auto produced 7" EP "Medieval Prophecy". 20 years later an official and strictly limited edition is now available on CD.

It contains all demos and rehearsals recordings prior to "Worship Him". Fully re-mastered and limited at 1'200 numerated copies, it comes as a deluxe digipack with rare graphics and liner notes and it is only available through the S A M A E L online shop. It will be out on the 24th November but you can place your order now!

ay, and good news it is indeed. agree with your wish for vinyl though. anyway. this is gonna be great to hear all the pre-worship him stuff in a row without turning the eps over. but 19 euro? plus shipping? i highly doubt 1200 copies sell out that fast and so i will wait for its release and hope for a more fair retail when buying from distros.

ah, btw, what is the label? nuclear blast? regain and night of the vinyl dead were in charge of the vinyl versions of the last two samael full lengths, right? maybe one of them will carve this one in wax as well. hopefully.

I think no one offered them to release this stuff on vinyl... maybe Yosuke could?

Vinyl or not, have to get this one. Medieval Prophecy is ridiculously hard & expensive to get.

Totally agree but I'll get this before it solds out instead of paying a fortune for it on Ebay later on.

A band releases some rare recordings on CD and people complain...

Well, I've tried to preorder it but it seems they don't ship to France... Well, they got an e-mail at least.

More like: a band charges fans almost double normal prices for some rare recordings and people refuse to be swindled.

If the band released it themselves, it may be more costly than some cheap 4-page booklet CD like the ones Time Before Time did.
A digipack costs far more than a regular CD, and the band may have choosen a local plant, etc, to produce it.

They may overcharge for this one, but not twice the usual CD price. And don't forget that the dollar-euro rate isn't in your favour.

If the layout is of great quality as it seems, then I prefer to give some money to the band than to some bootlegger. Or to get dubs if I find it too expensive.
