Any thoughts about this insane act??? I totally worship everything they did from demos since Rotten Perish. Of course the old days are the golden ones, but they did some really good albums in latter days as well.

Still need to listen albums after ECW...really don't know how are they.
Certainly my favorite swiss gang beside Hellhammer...songs like total maniac or messiah are pure metal greatness beyond doubt!
(shit I missed that demo compilation lp on Iron Pegasus..if someone sells it)

I love "Choir of Horrors" and "Psychomorphia" the best - killer death/thrash. "Rotten Perish" has some worthy parts but is overall kind of dull compared to those other two. I can't really get into their earlier stuff - I know a lot of people like it but several things about it rub me the wrong way.

The Messiah on Seraphic Decay Records was really good. It doesn't sound like that's the same one though.

That's Messiah Paratroops. Ichor talks about Swiss Messiah. Godly band, absolutely godly band and besides Rotten Perish, everything is killer. From Hymns To Abramelin up to Choirs Of Horror.

I don't hate it but I'd pretty much always rather hear "Choir of Horrors." Long stretches of "Rotten Perish" are kind of boring, and the stupid intro was just a poor idea.

I admit I only know the Hymns LP yet. That's some aggressive slab of evil thrash

I have the 2002 reissues of Hymn to Abramelin and Extreme Cold Weather, the Unreleased 1984 Demo vinyl, and Rotten Perish CD on Futurist (using the name The Messiah for some reason).

Extreme Cold Weather is one of my favorite albums of all time. Incredible stuff. Hymn to Abramelin is also really cool. The unreleased demo is really "cult" in a way. Not great to listen to because some of the songs are too long and simplistic for their own good, but the sound is surprisingly good. Rotten Perish is like a totally different band. The riffs are fairly conventional thrash, but the vocals are more death metal, which has a sort of cognitive dissonance to it. As a death metal album, it's pretty weak, but as thrash metal, it's solid. Depends on which way you approach it, but it's definitely weaker than Hymn to Abramelin and Extreme Cold Weather. A lot of the riffing does sound the same, too. The Manilla Road cover is really neat, though.

I have 'Hymn to Abramelin' & 'Extreme Cold Weather' LP's from back then Twisted Evil and I recently got their demo LP's. I completely adore them, from then till now, and I constantly listen to their LP's. My favorite is 'Hymn to Abramelin'...

This is one of the bands that for some reason I never had a chance to check out. Which release would you recommend to check out first?

Hymns.../Extreme... are both easily to get with the Re-Release CDs on Massacre Records.

Choirs Of Horrors for the second incarnation of the band.
