I just dug this beauty out for a listen for the first time in years. I forgot what I had been missing.
Also, how hard is it to obtain the die hard copy?

This is one album I actually never see anyone try to rid themselves of. Maybe the die-hards actually all ended up in die-hard fans hands. Twisted Evil

Tell me about it. I keep hoping to find a copy (regular is fine for me) but its a great sign on the musical quality when virtually no one wants to trade their copy! First thing I heard from them was the split with Like Flies on Flesh, and the Asunder tracks immediately made a great impression. How does Clarion Call compare to those 2 killer tracks?

Kind of wishing I didn't give this as a present to my girlfriend.

this album is HUGE!

nevertheless i traded my copy of the die hard away as these pink splatters were kind of irritating. just a feeling that the shining black fits the whole atmosphere of the album way better. plus the etching comes into its own on black while the bright grey absorbs some details imo. anyway. only pity was that i had to give up this sweet logo patch.

yosuke, you do not have asunder patches left by any chance, do you?

@vk666: yes, the split was a very good first sign and got right my attention as well, but it is nothing against "a clarion call". seriously! i remember well that i was tremendously flabbergasted when hearing the first tones of "twilight amaranthine" and despite of the strong split contribution and high expectations it was like "where the hell is this coming from?" never expected such a vivid monster that gets you right where it hurts. and the most remarkable thing is that "a clarion call" has not lost a single of its fascination. apart from some classics this is easily the album i play the most and it amazes me every time like it was the first time. it is an emotional rollercoaster ride. ah, and you should definitely go for the split with graves at sea. asunder's "whited sepulcher" makes me wanna cry, so amazing it is.

we had this lil' asunder topic before and yosuke told there were leftovers of the "a clarion call" vinyl he forwarded to the band for screen-printing alternate jackets. asunder is currently touring. right? maybe you can contact the band and ask if there's copies left. kind of pre-ordered mine from john and am really curious about what the new art is looking like.

and to come to an end. you surely know this, but nightgaunt graphics is selling asunder shirts and these shirts are just killer. CLICK

you are welcome, phil.

is there any chance the postponed "wind and wings" demo gets released some day or is that no longer an issue?

I have the remaining copies to John Asunder about a month ago. I'm not sure what they plan on doing with them, but I encouraged them to create silkscreened covers and sell them at gigs.

I agree that ACC is their best effort thus far. The split LP and second album doesn't even come close to the epic heaviness of the debut.
