i have a raw file of an image i would like to make a large backpatch out of(larger than the usual backpatch size, one which will cover most of the back part of the jacket)
the only thing is i only want 1-3 made, and quality embroirdery job as well.

any thoughts or suggestions on how i could do this?

ill admit i am totally naive when it comes to how to produce a patch, so any comments will be helpful.

Where are you located?

It will cost you a fortune to do just 1-3 back patches because they usually have a set up fee (around 40$ I think) + you will have to pay for the patches themselves. I suggest to do maybe some screen printing instead? Or maybe have them made in china?

Unless you're set on it being an embroidered back patch, I'd suggest screen printing them yourself. Go to a fabric store and pick what you like, then print your image right on it.

There's multiple websites that offer how-to tutorials on screenprinting. It's easy, cost effective, and awesome. Wink

I then suggest to deal with them: http://www.patchesrus.com/

They are not afraid of printing blasphemous artwork - as it is suposably something hard to deal with in america...

Cheers!

Find a place that does Biker Gang Patches...
those are often whole back size & they do really small minimums...
like 12 as opposed to the 100 minimum that most places require!!

I'm also looking for a place that can make around 20 embroided backpatches.

All info is appreciated.

I know of secondhand of a few local embroidary places that will do one-of patches a the like. The usualy do patches for local teams and such (my friend's air-soft team) but a place like that could probably handle your request.

Any one seen or looked into one of those home embroidary machines? I think my aunt has one.... some thing like that would be great.

I bet those machines are pretty delicate for the kind of work they do.
