Yes, metal is a mindset that can be found all over the world, but where you come from will inevitably effect you to an extent and how you feel about life. That is the reason why bands from different countries have their own sound to begin with (that is for the most part exclusive to their country). The thrash metal that came out of Germany sounded much different than the stuff coming from the Bay Area in California. The black metal in Greece was distinct from the black metal in Brazil and vice-versa. There is a reason for this.

When I meant background I meant if you were rich or poor. Each region/country has its own unique style of playing metal. I too agree that Latin American metal can be considered more "hateful" than the 1st world counterparts. Same can be said about some Asian metal(such as Malaysia, China, Singapore etc.)

Mexico is very bad right now. A plane carrying 16 very important people blew up and then upon hitting the ground injured/killed 40 and 10 people. Not good.....

Shocked

Yeah, things are hard nowadays...although it seems this was an accident (and due to the situation the nitial raction was that it was a nacr related thing), how the heck you put some inexperienced pilots in the airship carrying the Interior minister (in other words the vice-president)?
In my city they found a human head in a gas station last week...beside everyday murders and so, related to narcotics...damn, we are not doing good, too much corrpution and stupid government...yah, probably living in fear and violence all the days makes some good extreme metal music in this area...like EX INFERIIS, NECCROCULTUS and OMINOUS CRUCIFIX...I mean out of all this situation at last some good metal comes...like a consolation thing--- Confused

"City of God" was a very harrowing movie. I saw it in the affluent , trendy downtown neighborhood between NYU and SoHo. Stark contrast. NewYorker Magazine recently ran a pretty in depth article with graphic details aboput the narco/Govt. corruption problem in Mexico which included a strange add-on about the death cult started by a woman whose son had been slain.

Parabellum "Sacrilegio" is just so blurry and chaotic. hail that fuckin' thing.
I say yes to Nakromantie and Nebiros too. I like Witchtrap too. Need to track down the early stuff. It "Witching Metal" available on vinyl yet?

My cousin-in-law from Colombia's father was found dead on their front lawn without explanation. He now lives in California.

I'm glad you mentioned NECROCCULTUS - that fucking band just emits a black cloud of pure darkness. They have that crushing BOLT THROWER sound mixed with the obscurity and twisted melancholic riffing of Mexican death metal... what a great fucking band!!!!!

The Nebiros LP is the most bestial album to be spawned from Colombia.

Hells Headbangers just released the CD version, so if anyone was going to do it, it'd be them. Their earlier material was far closer to Kreator - Endless Pain, they even have a song called Cry War.

WITCHTRAP isn't really worth anything beyond the Sorceress Bitch album, though.

"No Anaesthesia" is pretty corny, but I like it BLACK LEATHER METAL DAMNATION is anthemic (and corny) ! ! !
