"The Blood Music vinyl mailer.

I've manufactured a handful of these which is a slight modification on some designs that a few companies stock in North America.

No such design is in commercial use in Europe as far as I'm aware, and I was tired of shipping with "the best on offer" in these parts, which wasn't so great after all.

The Blood Music mailer provides wide crush-proof air space on two sides of the LP, which prevents nearly all cases of corner damage, as it takes the pressure points away from the corners.

It's an easy-fold cover which then locks into place, not only preventing damage but also making this quick to pack up.

This is the simpler design that I've had constructed, there is a much MORE complex design which sadly didn't make it past prototype stage yet due to the costs. If this goes over well, I will mass produce these and then we can look into some more complicated designs as well for the ultra-rare vinyl of the world.

There will only be 20 packages of this sold (in bundles of 25) as part of the initial run. If they sell out quickly and there is demand for more (and people like what they receive), then we will put in a larger run and make this an actual thing.

Intended price is 1,50 per mailer (so bundle of 25 is 37,50 + shipping). Not even sure if this will make any money, we'll see!

Let us know if you're interested in this. We'll get them for sale next week."

Looks like a good design. Pretty much the type of mailer that jazz and audiophile shops have been using for years. Much better than the thin white dogshit mailers most people in the U.S. use, and several orders of magnitude from the thin self-stick record envelopes common in the UK and Europe.

It's like the Whiplash LP mailers that are common here in the US.

Hard to tell for sure from the photos, but it looks like it may be an improvement over the Whiplash mailers in that the cover flaps appear to overlap, which would prevent records from getting gashed by a box cutter upon opening.

Box cutter? Gashed records?

I thought for sure you would be one of the surgical precise album openers of the forum by now too... a sole operation table lit well with a tray of assorted utensils for opening and peeling tape and lifting packaging flaps like a box doctor we all have become.

What's going on?

The problem with the whiplash ones is you have to buy 125. If you only ship LPs that are rare or worth real money like a lot of people only do, then you don't need 125.

They're great for distros/labels though.

Its time everyone asks for their mailers back... like stamps back in those old olden days.

Which would be a HUGE improvement over those garbage envelopes they use in Europe. Although IBP and HRR always pack their shit well.

I never would be careless enough myself to do this, but I have shipped using Whiplash mailers and have thus packed the record to make sure the recipient doesn't do it himself.

it's the best record mailer in recorded postal history, so it deserves to be talked about just as long.
