Two questions -

1. For you guys that like Barathrum, how are their later albums (post-Infernal)? I notice these are much easier to get a hold of, but I haven't heard any of them. I like "Eerie" a lot, it's right in line with my favorite style of black metal (that is, kind of like Mortuary Drape, Varathron, Necromass, Rotting Christ, etc.)

2. Has there ever been any rumor of Barbarian Wrath or anyone else reissuing their first three albums officially? I know Spinefarm did that 2CD version but I also know the band considers it a bootleg.

From the early sutff I like Hailstorm more, it's harsher. Also the demos are awesome!

I dont know about the later stuff, I heard it's not that good anymore. No idea

Later stuff is really cleanly produced and not primitive. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on this board.

It would be nice to see the early Barathrum stuff on vinyl finally. I still haven't heard Infernal.

I think Eerie is their best one, but all three of the early albums are classic.

Of the post-Infernal stuff, Legions of Perkele is great, though not as good as the first three. I don't really care for the rest of their newer stuff. Funny how the four "HEIL" albums were great and the four "SOVA" weren't... Exclamation

As for reissues, the idea has come up now and again, but from what I have heard it's not likely to happen anytime soon.

I've only heard Eerie, Hailstorm and Legions. I've been trying to find their other stuff but it's pretty hard Sad

I like all their releases, but "infernal", "jetblack" and "sataana" are the best. need to find my damned "sataana" tape to play it again. the sound and the compositions are fukkin' great.

Killer band which indeed should get finally some more vinyls out, unfortunately I still have to consider them as a big RIP OFF...

The best is Hailstorm and Eerie, hands down.

Because the band got 700 Euro for a gig, but instead booking the flights and showing up at our concert, they (Demonos Sova) spend the money for drugs. The rest of the band dissociate from that happening and told some words of pity, but in the end it was just blabla and nothing happened. No later gig to their own expenses or money back/refund since so many years...

"Legions of Perkele" is the best Barathrum-album published after "Infernal". Catchy songs, strong production and it features a couple of old classics as bonus.
The albums in "SOVA"-serie are all very well produced, but they lack that certain type of primitiveness and darkness their earlier stuff is known for. The latter albums feature many old demo songs also, so they have their moments...

I have their first demo and if anyone is interested in it, let me know. Maybe a trade or something.

First 3 are the best, Legions.. is OK and afterwards it's getting shittier and more clean and melodic each album..
Indeed, it's a shame the biggest crap get's released on vinyl and stuff like Countess and Barathrum have NOTHING on vinyl. Anyway, also the old labelboss is to blame for that!
