Alright, here's the deal:
few weeks ago I bought a demotape on ebay from an American seller. When I received it, it was an obvious bootleg (by the way, this seller is worm_body, beware!!!). Filed a dispute with paypal, seller raised it to a claim as he kept saying it was original, paypal obviously choose my side so now I have to return him the item in order to get a refund.
But I have to deliver them tracing information. However Belgian postage services doesn't deliver tracing information. The best you can do is post it as a registered sending but that is not online traceable. Since even that would cost me over $10 (to get a refund on a $37 object) I need to be sure paypal accepts this if the seller would decide to try to fuck me over again by saying the package didn't arrive. However, as always, paypal itself ignores my inquieries about this so I'm hoping someone here can share from his personal experience.

It's the other way around for me (American buying from Europe), but I can tell you that FedEx/DHL/UPS are the best option if you need international tracking. Most of the national mail systems will not track international packs. FedEx or the like will be expensive (probably as much as registered mail), but you will get a tracking number, and thus make Paypal happy in the event of a problem. It'll also be a lot faster than registered mail.

I think registered mail is not enough for Paypal, they want something with online proof of delivery. But as you've noticed, it's hard to get any response from them at all, even when you need a refund...

FedEx would cost $100 to send one package of 0,2 kg according to their shipping quote on the site. Did I do something wrong or is that really the price?
Hmm, so if I don't opt for one of the (what appears to be) super-expensive private courriers the guy could claim it wasn't received and still fuck me over. Paypal benefitting buyers my ass, what a hassle to get a refund on a tape!

In retrospect, I should have. But here I am, always trying to be fair and honest with people.
