THey've never played live, although Chorazaim did vocals on a few live Megiddo cover versions at a Legion666 show a few years ago. Killer.

Chorazaim is busy with another band lately, Dipsomania. I dont think MEgiddo is officially dead, just on ice.

My friend Emma told me about them! How were they? Did you see them live? Do they have a demo available? I really wanted to go, but forgot why I couldn't... haha

Yeah, seen Dipsomania twice. It's nothing like Megiddo though. Self described as "nihilistic rock and fucking roll".

The Legion666 covers w/ Chorazaim (keep almost typing his real name, hahaha) was the closest thing to a live set ever.

This thread made me dig out my Megiddo albums. Great underrated band.

Cool, I'd still be interested to hear Dipsomania. I'll try to catch them next time they do a show. Did anybody ever record those live "Megiddo" tracks?

On another note, I once put "The Oath" during a bar brawl last winter... it was cool.

Any other bands that have slow-to-mid paced rythms, distorted vocals, and some hissing Guitars that principly play power chords? I'm not all that into blastbeats either (unless I am rocking out to Blasphemy, Manticore or Spearhead), and I love that gritty (yet amazing vocal production) sound like Megiddo has been releasing. I've been listening to a ton of Megiddo, Faustcoven, and Sathanas to "tide me over". Beyond this, there isn't much out there which I can find currently.

Any recomendations would be appreciated!

P. S . - Yea, I am aware of the BarWrath label, whihch I have ordered from so don't mention that if you can!

You will like TARANIS, which is my new discovery for 2009! Not that mid-paced but it has a similar vibe. Let me know what you think!

Taranis is total Bathory worship. Good stuff for what it is.

Taranis is my favourite recent discovery too - really great stuff. I don't think it's merely Bathory worship either.

Front Beast, Ruins (ger) would be good choices if you dig Megiddo

MEGIDDO is fucking metal. I love the vibe they give off... it reminds me of Bathory and Hellhammer at times but also of the mighty Black Sabbath... great band with great ideals. And their Exciter and Razor covers are great as well. Hail Canadian Metal.

I fucking worship MEGIDDO. They are one of the best nowadays Canadian Metal bands by far. It makes me proud to be from the same country. Smile

Front Beast is some dissonantly skillful "Black n' Roll that deserves a ton more credit than I see most giving them. The Ruins album "Satanic Bitchpenetration" is a fucking ripper, I have yet to hear anything else from them.

HellFire: Thanks for the heads up on TARANIS, just ordered the "S/T" from 2007.

I have about five Front Beast releases, Black Spells of the Damned is excellent, but honestly my favorite release is the "Victims of Death" demo. Curse of Baphomet is the best Front Beast song aside from the BSOFD title track!
