Does anyone else have dreams of great record scores? I mean actual dreams. Like some people dream of being able to fly, having a Rolls Royce, being with some hot chick...any time I have a "good" dream, it is finding big stashes of rare records in a $1 bin....Smile

I don't think I've had a dream like that (of record stores), but I have had countless dreams of Maiden and King Diamond. Haha.

haha this is an awesome video. Old vinyl sucks though. And it smells mostly of mold. Unless it is really good old country western, classical, jazz or progressive it's garbage!

I like how the guy is smoking near his LP collection. Goes to show condition most of his collection is probably in. I agree digging through old LPs can sometimes be depressing...turning up copy after copy of "Sing Along With Mitch" and "Jesus Christ Superstar" and other crap. Makes me feel like an old lady sitting at the slot machine waiting for the jackpot.

I think it's fun, personally, because you pretty much always find something cool and you're even more excited about it. My friend found a sealed copy of Lips-Hard'n'Heavy in a used record shop that had absolutely no metal except for that and a Scorpions LP... it's like a treasure hunt, I guess.

I've never once scored a rare metal vinyl outside of metal shops where price is set accordingly. Luckily I collect a few other genres so I have found a few decent scores- recently found a bunch of $1 LPs which were all Mexican/central American pop records from the 70s and 80s. The covers were so hilarious I had to buy the lot...

I guess I am lucky. The second hand record store in my town has had the following original records:
Discharge- Why?
Black Sabbath- Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Judas Priest- British Steel.
Nocturnus- The Key.
Obituary- Cause of Death.
The Exploited- Punk's Not Dead.
Motorhead- Motorhead.
Motorhead- Ace of Spades.
Anthrax- Fistful of Metal.
Electro Hippies- The Only Good Punk Is A Dead Punk.
Nuclear Assault- Handle With Care.
Anvil- Hard N' Heavy.
Cirith Ungol- Frost and Fire.

And there is tonnes of other stuff there. The stuff above is just stuff which I know that my friends and I have bought. There are also a few Armoured Saint LPs, some thrash metal compilations (one of which features Hobb's Angel of Death), some classic heavy metal compliations, one Grindcrusher LP and tonnes of other such stuff. And this is all in the £5-£15 price range. For more expensive metal, there is also Satan "Court In The Act" going for £40 and Wytchfinde "Give 'Em Hell" for £25.

Overall, pretty good selection for a city with only around 90.000 people living in it. Laughing

I think it's the same guy who ran a huge-ass auction of his entire collection.
