To each their own, but if I may ask, what is there to dislike?

I see a great Necros Christos influence on the cover:)

Just plain boring to me, and I don't find the drum machine that great. I don't really like Necros Christos either so...

Well, the drums on this MCD are MUCH better than the Full Length. The Full Length drums were done by me, and the stuff on "Profano..." were done by our bassist. He uses a much more involved program with much better sampled sounds.

However - we have an upcoming 7" featuring a live drummer and we will be playing with a live drummer at the Fest in NJ next month.

But hey, we cannot win them all. I have no problems with people not liking us for whatever reason. At least you had an honest reason and did not say something like "their shit sux, only tru slamming goregrind is reelz."

My opinion might change hearing the stuff with the live drummer.

Yep - the Altar featured in the cover was totally Mortuary Drape inspired. I made it and took those pics way before I ever heard or saw Necros Christos and their album art. However, that is not to say that they do not influence what I do now... I think I have covered this in another thread.

DRUM MACHINE -

So, here is a little history lesson; when me and the other original member started Father Befouled, he programmed all the drums. A "drum machine" has never and will never be used in Father Befouled. There is a huge difference in a drum machine and programming midi drums using a variety of software applications. He (Wolxum - bass, programming) used a very nice setup to record music. He pretty much has a fully functional studio at home. He has done other releases with other bands he is involved in using the applications he has. When it comes to the drums he programs, including what you will hear on Profano ad Regnum, it is very hard to tell the difference between them and a live drummer.

Well, once we began the pre-production/writing of the Obscurus record, he came to me and says "I am not going to have time to do all the drums and shit for the record." So - I go and buy a new program that will allow me to program drums. I take myself through a crash course of learning midi and setting up my system to do so. Up until this point, I have a very basic mic-in-front-of-the-amp-into-a-mixer-and-into-a-simple-recording-program type thing. I spend a little $$$ and do all the drums myself. Problem is, I do not have very much $$$, so I am limited to very basic sounds to program with. Long story short, the drum sounds on the record (to some) are less than favorable. If you read the liner notes to Obscurus... it states that I did the entire record myself. Profano ad Regnum is both members, with MUCH better drums.

And yes, as I said before, our new 7" (that I cannot talk about yet) has a full lineup - drums were recorded with Bill Korecky at MARS (Incantation, Integrity). This is the future lineup for all recordings and gigs as well, hopefully. There are currently no plans to ever record with programed drums again...

I have a CD with some amazing drum sounds on it used for midi/electronic drum brains/etc, "Drumkit from Hell"
If you're interested let me know I might be able to split the file up into several pieces and send over e-mail.

I actually have a HUGE database of the original DKFH samples, but they are all just in .wav form. The way my software works, I have no way to use these sounds other than just importing them sound by sound and using them as replacements, which would be extremely time consuming. Without an explanation that would be very long and hard to grasp, I simply cannot use them without the plugin or whatever that comes with the DKFH software. I am also not sure if that particular program is compatible with mine.

DKFH is something I really, really want to start using, but I need to get the entire program and not just the sounds. Once I either figure out if it is compatible or I upgrade my base recording/mixing program, DKFH is something I am definitely going to start using.

Actually it reminds me of totally of Necros Christos and not Drape at all, although I see your point.

Hopefully the new tunes are better than what I heard so far... meh.
