Vimur, a side project of Vaedis from Hellgoat, languished for several years and reactivated last year. Vimur has played legendary shows here in Atlanta, most notably at the now defunct 585 Wells, before going inactive. Since reactivating, Vimur has opened for Ritual Decay and Ectovoid, Nachzehrer and Haethen, and has played as far afield as Charlotte and Chicago.

Vimur recently entered the studio and are recording a full length. They will be looking for a label to release it. You can listen to demo tracks here here.

Vimur will be desecrating souls at the prefest show for Satan's Unholy Abomination 3. Thursday, December 18 at Sidebar.

Baltimore should be evacuated now.

Vaedis (Hellgoat, ex-Disfigurement, ex-Malefic) composed the songs comprising Traversing the Ethereal Current while still in high school. A multi-instrumentalist, he recorded them at the time, but scrapped the recordings because his musical abilities were not equal to his vision.

That was over half a decade ago. Vaedis has since re-recorded the songs, with the help of his brother-in-arms, Amon Demogorgon (Hellgoat, Lament Configuration, ex-Legions of Astaroth, ex-Eyes of Ligeia). Mixed and mastered at Iron Hand Audio in Chicago, by Dan Klein, Traversing the Ethereal Current was released yesterday. You can hear selected songs from the CD here.
Copies should be available shortly from Deathgasm and Negative Existence.

For now, the CD can be obtained directly from Vaedis, by contacting him at vimurmetal at yahoo dot com.

Vimur will be playing Thursday, December 18 at Sidebar in Baltimore at the Satan's Unholy Abomination pre-fest show.

As it turns out, the album won't actually be released until the show at the Sidebar. Those of you in Baltimore are in for a special treat.
