We've just released the first preview track from Algebra's upcoming second album, "Feed the Ego." This might be the most straightforward thrash we have released, or will ever release. Algebra plays very tight, intermittently technical thrash metal somewhat in the vein of fellow countrymen Coroner, with other points of reference being Stone, Blood Feast, Cyclone, and Bay Area thrash.

Here's "Survival Nowadays":

CD will be released mid-2014.

This is now available to pre-order. CDs are on their way to me and will ship on or before July 7.

Some early reviews:

EXTREME UNDERGROUND MUSIC ZINE: "Algebra goes back to the mid 80's style of thrash metal playing the heaviest style this genre has to have almost bordering on death metal at times while not being in that musical genre and the band also demonstrates a great amount of talent and skill on their musical instruments, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover real life themes." 8/10

SKULL FRACTURING METAL: "The band uses relatively standard, but tight playing to make a convincing album... 'Feed The Ego' is an album that holds up the high quality delivered by Unspeakable Axe Records. It is a bit more subdued in its approach than the consistent Kreator/Slayer worship of most modern bands, but it is equally compelling."

No immediate plans. I may talk to War On Music again, who co-released Besieged and Birth AD on vinyl - he likes his thrash.

We've posted a new track from this album - this is "My Shelf," with clear nods to the classic thrash ballads of Metallica, et al.
