Great news, will probably grab this.

Why people are still calling those albums "the metal trilogy" is beyond my understanding.

I never call it that myself, but Im gonna take a wild guess and say it might have something to do with the fact that the band was considered both by themselves and their fans at that time as a black metal band and ever since Nattens, the band and the fans view them as an electronic band.

Great to hear that News... after all these shitty Bootlegs going around this is the perfect answer...

Let's also hope CM doesn't do anything stupid and put that gay "Vault" border around the cover(s).

Good news indeed, especially the 2nd and 3rd album are classics.
I'm sure Century Media will make the edition last for a while.
I would have love to been around at their office when they got the master for Nattens Madrigal back in the day; I'm pretty sure they did not see that coming!

Neither did the critics; this album got some negative reviews back in the day, because in a time when Black Metal-bands started improving their sound considerably, with "Symphonic Black Metal" being the fashion, only a few were able to comprehend why Ulver made a conscious attempt at sounding lo-fi.

Yeah, Nattens Madrigal surely was too much for many who would have preferred more sophisticated approach, which was the direction the first two albums were leaning towards.
I remember Terrorizer giving 4 or 5 out of 5. But then again it was the time when they actually had a clue what's going on (not that I know anything about what's going on over there at the moment).

Does anyone know about when this might come out? Gotta budget for this one, even though I have the original.

November is said as tentative release date.

And the album is still an ear destroyer today, even among the multitudes of bedroom demos that take "lo fi" to a new level.

Is the vinyl for this gonna be limited....?

Kinda un-informative press release... (or maybe its just my intoxication)

i would really really be into bergtatt and nattens on vinyl (two of my top bm albums..) but want to hear what this remastering is like before dropping the $$$

I really wouldn't want to buy the albums I already own, but I'd like to get a hold of those rehearsal tracks and the remastered Nattens Madrigal. It's the only album I know that requires me to turn treble all the way down. And even then it's still pure treble. KZZZZZZSSSSSSHHH! Superficially ugly as hell but at the same time very calming and beautiful.

Years ago weren't they planning to do an orchestral version of Nattens Madrigal? And what happened to the Bak De Syv Fjell full length?

I wouldn't mind a remix of Nattens Madrigal with more audible drums...
