I've got the Japanese CD version of UNLEASHED IN THE EAST...
called PRIEST IN THE EAST...with 4 more songs than on UNLEASHED...

I remember hearing back in the early 80s that this came out as a double vinyl release in 1979 in Japan...
with disc one same as US version of UNLEASHED and disc 2 a 12" of the other 4 bonus songs-2 on each side...

Anybody ever seen this???

I have a PRIEST 7" that has one of the 4 bonus songs as the B-Side...

Yes, that's right. It was released in Japan as "Priest in the East" and those four tracks came on an additional 7" EP with the album. Those extra tracks are on the re-mastered CD's.

Hells Headbangers had a bootleg LP a few years ago, but I can't remember the name. It looked pretty cool, but I lost out on it. I think it might of been "The Ultimate Priest in the East", which has additional tracks from same live show that weren't officially released.

Call it "Unleashed in the Studio" for all I care. It kicks fucking ass.

The only thing that's "questionable" to me is if some of the versions on this LP are better than the originals. I know I've debated with myself over it pretty damn often while blasting "The Ripper".

Blasphemy's Live Ritual needs mention too.

I also like Nunslaughter's "Radio Damnation". The handful of songs I like by them are all pretty much on it and the versions are great. I don't like joking around or humor with my Metal, but Don of the Dead's between song antics are great too.

The thing that sucked about the Blasphemy LP was the 'last call for drinks' or whatever that bludgeons through on the PA during the last song... Haven't listened to this for a few years, but I think it really killed the atmosphere. Must have really sucked for the band/NWN but I can only relate my own experience.

On a brighter note, I'm all there for 'Unleashed In The East' 'Live After Death', and well nothing immeidately beyond those comes to mind, but those two are exceptional
