There really isn't anything "avantgarde" about SMRC.

They're not full lengths per say, but Kenose and Drought should be on this list.

Man this is a hard question, but personally I think the poll should have been expanded to include Mass Grave Aesthetics/Diabolus Absconditus, the split with SVEST, Kenose, and Drought, just to make it all that more difficult.

Paracletus is definitely my most played and easiest to replay at any given time, so naturally I'd WANT to choose that. Si Monumentum is just immensely powerful and a great work, but it's not for all the time and the replay value with short intervals between replay - by which I mean, listening to it twice or more in a week or day - isn't as strong. Fas, I think has very strong moments like A Chore For The Lost being maybe DSO's best song but at the same time, the release as a whole requires a fluid temperament to listen to, aside from Chore and the Shrine Of Mad Laughter. Kenose, Mass Grave Aesthetics, & Diabolus Absconditus are my favorite DSO releases but since they're not on here... I guess I'd choose Si Monumentum Requires Circumspice.

I started listening to this band some time before Fas was released, so Kenose was the big thing at the time and was the first stuff I'd heard by DSO. If you made an old stuff thread I'd choose Inquisitors of Satan.

Hard choice. but FAS for me because it's by far the most bent and chaotic one of the three. After that would be SMRC, then Paracletus.

I used to think like that years ago, hahah. But I've tried to albums again since those times, and noted out that the newer era isn't that bad as I remembered. I still can't digest Fas-Ite but Si Monumentum and Paracletus are great albums.

People who think DsO is "artsy" and "hipster" are fucking morons who probably have no minds of their own and only think that way because they saw some other moron say it on a blog. Basically every "orthodox black metal" band models themselves after DsO in some way. and to say them being ARTSY as an insult, thus making them not black metal is utter stupidity. Black metal started out as a very experimental genre. Go listen to all your Darkthrone clones you narrow minded mongoloids.
