How you hate a classic like CRY WAR!!!?????

Seriously, I´m still a million miles away from "hating" anything from Endless pain ! But if I would have to choose, there are better german thrash albums I would decide for....

Playing 'Terrible Certainty' now... ripping platter of German steel!

I don't dislike Ventor's vocals on "Endless Pain" but they could have been cooler like on the Tormentor demo stuff, with cheap King Diamond screams and crazy wailing.

Musically I agree "Pleasure to Kill" is way overrated even though the lyrics are fantastic (poor grasp of English grammar=ability to state things in an oddly direct and cruel way, hehe). Ridiculous some of the songs that made it to the final album yet "After the Attack" was only on the pic. disc.

Oh yeah, as an aside, I will never understand people who claim to like "Endless Pain" yet totally slag Guillotine. The riffs and leads still rule the second time around.

Sort of agree with what you're saying, but I would prefer to listen to Endless Pain.

Ha ha ! I always like those 90´s so called "retro thrash" bands like GEHENNAH, INFERNÖ, BEWITCHED whatever ! But GUILLOTINE is among the biggest crap I ever heard ! It´s like they took Tormentor and re-arranged it 10 times for their album ! I really can´t listen to it !

Maybe its because some people listened to Endless Pain in 80s and Guillotine sounds plain rip-off and copy cat that came more than 10 years later.

Whats wrong with Ventor vocals? Endless Pain rules! Kreator was one of the craziest and heaviest in mid-late 80s! How many bands they influenced? Hundreds!

Maybe I just need to listen to Renewal more or something, but I remember not liking this album much at all.

It's a grower, and it's a damn good album.

I really hate, hate, hate "Extreme Aggression" - especially Milles vocals. They annoy me...

1st two albums are killer. Coma of Souls is great (but that was already the first step of using Milles "new" voice").

Renewal is okay, every now and then I watch the video of the title-track, as I have it on different video tapes (Headbangers Ball etc...).

Ventors vocals are also great...

I wasn't sure if earlier someone was talking about the band Guillotine... but yes, I agree that they were really lame. Being able to recreate or interpret someone else's music and revel at it in an almost ironic manner is totally retarded in my opinion. I thought they were the worst offender of that Necropolis batch of bands. And the bios Necropolis would issue with these releases in a bid to give them credibility. I always thought more investment should have been steered towards acts that were unique and innovative, not just marketable at a particular time. I don't know the people behind Guillotine so can't accurately assess their motives, but that for me was the translation.

Great times Headbangers Ball/Into the Pit! I have also a lot of of those video-tapes, that turn well still, others too much consumed and devoured in the years.

All their Vinyls (LPs + EPs) in my collection until '90s / Coma of Souls.
I have done mine a new release KREATOR, after eleven years with Violent Revolution DLP. Because I taken all the three new albums of the German Triad.
All the albums among this period... only fucking shit.
When I saw that abomination of video drawn from their gayalbum "Endorama", I was about to vomit and I didn't believe in my eyes.

My favorite will stay forever the two TORMENTOR 's demo-tapes ("Blitzkrieg" and "End Of The World") and the 1st three albums (Endless Pain on the top). Absolutely.

I still love the first couple KREATOR albums, but I have to say I thought SLAUGHTER LORD completely out-KREATORed KREATOR the first time I heard the mad Aussies in early 1987. Took SLAYER down a notch in my book as well. Finally BATHORY and SODOM had some real competition...

Shit didn't read the thread properly, I think Mille's "new" vocal style is a bit shit. I briefly had Cause For Conflict and Enemy of God at one point and found them leaving a lot to be desired.

This is a pretty accurate description as to why most of these newer thrash bands are shit.
