I find the Dragon Fallen Angel album to be a strange mixture of fast paced progressive, chaotic, but sometimes doomy+gloomy kind of death thrash with a small black metal hint

Terrible band I know, but ive never been able to find an easy genre for Wintersun. Its got moments of power, thrash, black, tons of melody and probably some other stuff Laughing

Yeah, not that I'm into the band but Ensiferum is like Wintersun, weird Finnish shit.

What's wrong with that country? It's like they have all these awesome bands (Beherit, Amorphis etc.) and then they went all shit after their 2nd release.

parabellum, black hole

These bands have the music of certain genres but the execution is totally impossible to define with any conventional term.

I think the key is a greater inspiration from things other than metal alone.

Off topic response; Stargazer are killer live, I saw them about six months ago and had a ball.

Agreed. Their 'A Journey's End' is such an amazing and engaging album. The way Alan's vocals have been captured during 'Solitary Mourner' is incredible. The emotion of it and the manner in which he breathes through it. I listen to this a lot through headphones and it never fails to inspire.
