Deep-fried pizza is a dish available in many chip shops in Scotland. It originated in the late 1970s and typically consists of the cheapest of cash and carry pizzas, though a choice of "toppings" is often available, usually plain (cheese and tomato), mushroom or onion. Served as a "Pizza Supper" (with chips) or single (without chips) in whole and half pizza portions. A common accompanying beverage is Irn-Bru, a carbonated soft drink.

Whole pizzas can be served cut in half with chips in the middle, creating a pizza and chip "sandwich".

In the east coast of Scotland they can be served with "Salt and Sauce"—with the pizza smothered in brown sauce before being folded in half. In the west they are generally served with "salt n vinegar and brown sauce" which is self explanatory. Most chippies will not fold the pizza in the west. They may put the pizza on top of chips before wrapping in paper but they will serve the meal in a pizza box on request.

Oh yeah, Pizza and Chips, I heard about that. That's just ugly. Potatoes are so much similar to dough, and for me this combination is like dough + different kind of dough. Too much of dough!!

English breakfast = vile!

Some elements of it are good for a hangover cure (beans, toast, bacon) but the rest inspires only revulsion in my heart and stomach.

While it seems that the general level of food improved in the UK these last one or two decades, I've seen lots of crap there that was just, let's say, tasteless at best.

The main problem is the general lack of taste, even with food of better quality. Sometimes it's OK on the mouth, except that it seems that the meat and vegetables have lost all taste.
Oh, well, and mustard must contain no vegetable -or other- oil. It gets a softer taste that's only for pussies.

There are some excellent beers though.

If one wants a full breakfast with meat and so on (French breakfast is crap, I have to recognize it), and with a taste, try German or Central European breakfast instead !

fried Mars-bars (!)

This stuff is nothing but short yummy. Oh, holy cholesterol, I worship thee. Ever tried fried pickled eggs? Quite a dubious treat. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeow, I know that there's a Scotland internal fight going on about this brown sauce, but this stuff is plain disgusting imho.

Still there's nothing better than Shortbread fingers. Could kill for these bad boys...

I once got inspired by "Supersize Me" and took a mars, snickers and other crumbed choclate bars in the fryer. Was great, afterwards I have had to puke, but it was great. I think I have an worldwide eating style, I like everything that is good. Explains also my heavy overweight at times, hehe...

That brown sauce is Worchstershire sauce, tastes like vinegar, and they even smear this shit on Döner Kebabs. The worst one I have ever eaten in my life was in Edinburgh where the guy did put this Worchestershit sauce on my Kebab together with tomatoes and onions and without any garlic sauce. I usually don't throw foot away, but this ended not even half-eaten in the dustbin...

needless to say a classmate ordered a fried Mars-bar in the same town... :(

400kcal... mjam...
