Yeah, the Mitochondrion EP should be mentioned a lot more. Killer songs from a killer band.

I guess if I had to put together a top 5 right now, it'd look like this:

1) Lantern - Below
2) Villains - Never Abandon the Slut Train
3) Ranger - Knights of Darkness
4) Antediluvian - Logos
5) Bolzer - Aura

I still have a few things coming in from this year, including the new Tyrant's Blood, which might crack the top 5. But that's my tentative top 5 for the year.

Overall, I'd say that it's been a solid year, with some good releases, but it's definitely been a fair bit slower with much smaller number of releases that I was interested in than any year since the mid 2000s. The big releases that a lot of people really enjoyed this year just didn't capture my attention at all.

I'm amazed how much NEW stuff some you listen. I still have a huge backlog of LP's released 2-3 years ago.

So far I have heard 3 stellar albums released this year.
1. Plaga - Magia Gwiezdnej Entropii (best BM album since L'ordure...?)
2. Cultes des Ghoules - Henbane
3. Peste Noire - s/t

Disappointment of the year: Inquisition.

What's that PLAGA sound like? Never heard of them before....

Better not to waste your time on it... Typical nowadays overhyped crap. Shitty band on album, and shitty band on stage too!

Bolzer (tablet key board, so can't find the right letter)

I can quote it for you Americans here, looks like it is needed more than once: Ö, ö (like in Motörhead, Mötley Crüe etc.).

By the way: You can also write "Boelzer", it's actually more correct than "Bolzer" as this particular Umlaut is not for the sake of decoration but for the actual spelling/pronunciation.

Just saying, if you want to hail properly.
