I've been looking to expand my record collection.

Can anyone recommend any black or death metal albums out there, that are available from any U.S. distro? I'm looking for albums in which you don't know why it is still available and should have been long sold out.

I'm open to other genres as well, but I would prefer black metal.

Time for a bit of shameless self-promotion for my label. We still have plenty of copies of ILL OMEN's masterful Divinity Through Un-creation LP in stock. Definitely one of my favorite black metal releases of recent years.

If you like the riffs on De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, you'll certainly like this Album.

Do what I do.
Pay attention to, and go backward through all the interesting threads in this forum, and check out youtube / bandcamp / reverbnation/ etc
(or do a blind buy if it looks like what you will most probably like)
Make a list.
If you are poor -
wait until a sale is announced here, 2 or 3 times a year by NWN, or Dark Descent Distro, or Hellsheadbangers, etc

When I place an order through discogs, I browse through the cheapo list of the seller and do some research on metal archives, youtube or whatever.
This way I've found some cool albums for little money.

But, uh, wouldn't it be better if you first said what you like? What/which kind(s) of black metal?

Because otherwise the suggestions are gonna be all over the place.

I don't really have a list of my records online or anything, and I don't have too much time to do anything like that yet.

My record collection isn't anything special. I just have most of the classics, Bathory, Burzum, Darkthrone, Emperor, etc. I'm still looking for more that I might be missing. If you could suggest your favorite classics that you think people often miss, I would appreciate it.

Also, I've noticed your Vordr icon. Which albums from them can you recommend?

I'm 100% sure that everyone's record collection on NWN will put mine to shame.

I don't care what kind of black metal it is. As long as it sounds good.

I apologize for the triple post. Thank you for all the replies so far. I'm slowly making my way through all the suggested music.
