"SfB is pleased to announce that Ulver will soon be providing further details regarding their upcoming release which will be a double album with over 80 minutes worth of material. The album will consist of multitracked and studio-enhanced live, mostly improvisational, rock and electronic soundscapes, 2/3 of which has never been heard before, and will be titled ATGCLVLSSCAP"

I like the guys singing voice, but I cannot say I have enjoyed much of the recent Ulver albums at all.

The first three are great, the majority here would probably agree. Moving on though... I personally really did enjoy the William Blake Marriage of Heaven and Hell. I thought that album was fantastic in all it's weirdness and poetic execution. I think after that was the beginning of the soundtracks right?

I did purchase Lyckantropen Themes and Perdition City, have held on to them all these years but they certainly have not had a huge place in play rotation. Last time they were utilized was on this mind bender hallucination trip cause I needed a couple hours of music for the journey.

I think everything after that I really disliked more or less.
I did get some alternate project called Head Control System... not memorable either to be honest.

Wish the guy would do something 'metal' at least once again. Participate in the next Arcturus or something for a couple songs... mind you he probably wrote Myrkur I guess, odd he didn't guest vocals on it too.

He's going to be on a few songs on the next Borknagar album.

Hard to imagine anyone into Ambient or Electronic music not into Svidd Neger and Messe........amazing albums, imo.

Wars of the Roses is the only post-metal album I've found disappointing.

Hope Myrkur sings on the album so this thread goes over 100 pages.

haha!

I'll keep an eye/ear out for sure. Haven't really been an avid follower of Ulver's post-metal material, but mostly what I've heard has been interesting at least, except what I heard of War of the roses. Saw them live a few years ago, and they were great.

I would be fine with that blonde babe singing a line or two ...just give us that brooding voice Garm has over something musically more tuned towards metal rather than sleepy chamber or elevator music, if he would do that I do not care who he guests on the album... could go back to sedation music right after that album again, just one more metal album!!! Very Happy

I respect these guys a lot as artists. The later stuff is definitely only suited for special moods. The black metal stuff is out of this world.

I don't really want him to make another metal album. Ever. Myrkur's "M" was enough to show he needs to not do that ever again.

I am playing William Blakes Themes from Heaven and Hell right now ...I would settle for something grand in scope like this project was/is. Fucking EPIC!

William Blakes Themes from Heaven and Hell is one of the Ulver albums I'm not familiar with. Will have to give it a listen-to tonight while reading in bed.
