WTF? The other options may obviously refer to very accomplished players in their own right (even though I've always loathed SUFFOCATION and only like some IMMOLATION), but Trey Azagthoth was simply a fucking game-changer on his instrument (one of the very last as well, btw) when MA appeared and evolved! No competition whatsoever, no matter what personal preferences you may have, seriously...

Vigna is a fantastic and unique player, and perhaps my personal favourite, but in terms of technique, feeling, innovation, influence, etc. there is no-one in death/black metal who is superior to Azagthoth.

Vigna. Leads the best band of the three and his playing is by far the most interesting.

Trey RIFF MASTER Azagthoth.

Dude is our Paganini, rumours of Devilish possession included. Albeit possessed by The Ancient Ones.

He is litterally on another paradigm made of Death Metal, Sailor Moon, Rick Owens, sportscars, Lava and online FPS

Trey, of course. Doug and Bob are amazing, but they're a thick hair short. Only Trey can make riffs like God of Emptiness work and not completely fall apart on their own weight.

Say what you will about IDI -- there's some fucking riffs on that album. I'd honestly rather listen to it than Immolation's latest output. It's a varied, entertaining trainwreck while recent Immolation is just... Pinch harmonics over plastic drum samples.
