Does anyone have a scan of the statement that came with either Moonlight Butchery or Midnight Frost (not sure which) vinyl editions, that gave the reasons behind the ending of Judas Iscariot? Been curious about it for some time.

the comparisons to darkthrone are kinda dumb...they always struck me as a burzum surfer band Razz haha.

distant in solitary night is a USBM classick. heaven in flames didn't age well for me, i put it on a few weeks ago and couldn't finish it. the one i wish i still had is "to embrace", i lost that one and a couple of others over the years :l

Is it true the band was formed in 1992? Somehow this doesn't sound like a drummer with four years of experience.

Not everyone learns at the same pace and there are numerous factors that affect musical development. I've been playing guitar for over a decade and drums for just over four years, yet I'm sure there are countless people more advanced than me who've been at it for a shorter period of time.

Maybe he went to the Kanwulf school of band history writing. They did collaborate at one point ......

Seriously though I also know that a lot of JI recordings were done around the same time. I dont remember the order, but there could be much less of a gap than 4 years.

Now, I realize that but I just find it strange as there are supposed to be older demos out there where he's solo as well.

That's why I just listen to the re-recorded version of it. That version of the album is amazing.

Surprised to see so much praise for this band going on still. Or is it just some sort of nostalgic revival?

Always considered them an average/solid band with an overall quite mediocre discography - and "Heaven in Flames" being the indisputable zenith.

And of course they were (to put it mildly) heavily influenced by Darkthrone. And whoever said that JI was actually better than DT needs to check his brain urgently.

In my opinion there is just as much Burzum influence if not more than Darkthrone in JI.

Is this re-recording of 'The cold earth' official released?

I have this 'Ancient starry sky' through tapetrading, it's also re-recordings of older tracks if I remember correct

Bootleg LP only.

Couple songs from the re-recording were officially included on the Midnight Frost 7".

His record label Breath of Night was a good one:
http://www.merciless-records.de/bonrec.html

A pity he handed that over to Schwechheimer; I don't think that guy ever kept any of the releases in print, did he?
