I'm sure this will go on for a while. Only band I can think of is Perdition Hearse though I've never heard them, I just remember hearing the name. If I had a flick through my memory and a few zines I own, I'm sure I could find more.

Maybe Lord Diabolus could count as one but we all know thats Beherit anyway.

I just want to start these threads just to maybe introduce others and myself to bands that are forgotten that deserve to be remembered at least by a small sect of humanity. Plus also there was a forgotten doom thread at Hellride so was inspired by that too.

yeah Perdition Hearse was cool, but not overwhelming. One of the guys Cultoculus played in Mayhem if memory serves. I don't recall under what guise, only that it wasn't for long.

Nuctemeron from Poland deserves a mention here I think, Festung Breslau is the most evil thing I've heard pre-VON!

I think Phenomistik and Meditation Embun Pagi from As Sahar are great Melodic Black Metal records but they're more from mid 90ies

I heard there was a great deal of quality black metal from Eastern Europe such as the Czech Republic/Czechoslovakia and Hungary.

Torr is one Czech band I can think of thats a little less known than Root or Master's Hammer, but I'm sure most here are aware of them. From Hungary, we all know about Tormentor, but other bands like Antichrist and Fantom I've heard are pretty good. I've got a few other names listed I intend to check out too. There also seems to have been almost proto NSBM from the region in the shape of Angel Reaper, but again I've yet to hear them...

Those Amon demos are killer. Dr. Fe was the better of the two Root vocalists. Yes I said it.

Black Prophecies came up already in another thread.

Toten (pre Profanatica) doesn't get much mention even with the reissue I did. I think that recording was way ahead of their time.

Masochist (US) Demos collection was released this year by Moribund. I still need to get that.

I agree about PERDITION HEARSE being cool but not great. The photos inside the demo with their CRADLE OF FILTH look are somewhat funny too.

Speaking about Malaysia, NEBIRAS' Rites is a killer one.

French GORGON is worth hearing too. The band was hated by the Black Legions and some people never cared about them but their early releases are good BATHORY/VENOM worship with a slightly more modern touch.

In France, I can add MALEFICUM ORGIA who are (they released an album recently, that I haven't checked yet) the French BESTIAL SUMMONING or so. Their music is total bestial Black-Metal that some of you may like.

all those bands are killer! also pre profanatica, blood thirsty death is decent, although not quite as good as Toten

other bands i think deserve a mention are Rator from Malaysia, Hellish Torment, and Nuclear Hell

I think the self-titled '94 demo by Japanese AMDUSCIAS was great!! [Mirai's even playing keys on that one!] Actually do remember hearing the EP/MCD that followed in '98 and thinking it was pretty crap compard to the demo, though... Rolling Eyes

Wasnt there also split cd with Pseudostratiffied Epithelium? Quite colourful cover. Both bands didnt do it for me then so I sold that one, maybe a bad choice.

The PAGANUS DOCTRINA side on that split was a re-release of their demo...check their new songs in their myspace site...radically different stuff compared to their old material....
