None of the Craft albums sounds like Transilvanian Hunger.

Best recommendation so far. Some stuff of Paysage d'Hiver has a similar vibe. Good dose of Burzum added in both cases, though.

Also the first album from Clandestine Blaze is very much in the vein of "Transilvanian Hunger".

Skuggeheim is great as well, but more like a homage to Isengard.

Don't see why people think "Nattens Madrigal" sounds close to TH. But that Slaegt-demo is basically "Nattens Madrigal" + "Under A Funeral Moon", so it could fit the OP's needs.

I think that Nattens Madrigal stands on its own. I never thought of TH or Darkthrone when I'm listening to this album. I guess people are mentioning it because it's also really raw Nordic Black Metal.

The Min Kniv demo is one of my favourite Black Metal demos which were released after the 90. Raw, minimalistic and full of emotion. Whats not to love?

And still the OP was "asking for suggestions of some quality Transylvanian Hunger rip offs". Being "raw Nordic Black Metal" doesn't make "Nattens Madrigal" sounding like "Transilvanian Hunger" in any way, neither do the tremolo-picked riffs / melodies alone. Don't get me wrong, this is in no way addressed to you personally, but it seems like this is gonna be just another topic where the most guys just post what records they like whether they fit the given criteria or not.

I surely won't argue about the undeniable class-A quality of Mørkekunst's self-titled 7" EP, but I'm also having quite a hard time to see how it fit into this topic. Snake, why did you give that one as reference to begin with?

Just out of honest curiosity, how old are you again?

Armagedda's first album is the best thing inspired by TH, while still not sounding like a total clone.

Yeah, I really got your point I agree that those releases are not TH rip offs... I just mentiond the Morgul demo because I saw Morkekunst was listed by Snake as example. Both releases have a really similar atmosphere in my opinion.

Sorry, my english is really shitty. I meant the release date of the demos... Fixed. Or did I get your question wrong?

TH stands soo alone in it's own palace of glory. no wannabe clone can ever approach this monument.

am i the only one who thinks that clandestine blaze is the only band that truly carries on the torch of ... / only exists because of ... "hans siste vinter" and "en vind av sorg" (panzerfaust) song- and sound-wise?

The first Armagedda. Also, the guitar tone on the Vemod album is very TH-ish and awesome. If they wanted to rip off TH with that time they could very easily do so.

What the hell are you talking about? There's little to no similarity between Transilvanian Hunger and Nattens Madrigal. Both are lo-fi black metal from Norway, and that's about it.
