Now, Diabolical is the epitome of mild easy-listening commercial Black "Metal"
It is catchy indeed, like a good pop-rock band.

Even Watain have never gone THAT commercial.

Now, Diabolical is Black Metal for mallcore kids.
Kathy Perry Black Metal.

I don't really like any Satyricon album.
But actually i find Now, Diabolical to be their best. It is the most emotional album. And it doesn't sound as shallow and worthless as the other albums.

The only easy-listening in Now, Diabolical is King.
Perhaps you also find BB King easy-listening, because he is melodic.
Not to mention Mozart.

- great; see, it's so easy for anyone to discern true emotion; whether they're 'avid' listener or not.

I hated Now, Diabolical but I have to admit that "Our World, It Rumbles Tonight" is not a bad track. It starts off weak but after that opening riff which seems to have become the generic Satyricon sound it gets more interesting. I'll check this out.

Not really sure what is going on here, but it is one of the more entertaining ones that I can remember.
Oh well, there's always the collections thread! Very Happy

If you genuinely believe this you should probably just kill yourself.

No, I should simply stop wasting my time on English-speaking forums. The average Russian fan's intellectual capacity surpasses that of the Westerner by a few light years. And indeed, they actually discuss Satyricon.

You got that right! That book by that Dosteeveksy guy had too many pages. I did like the nekid lady in Andrei Rublev though.

There are some really good songs in this album.
Especially ''Tro og Kraft'' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf1R6QxHv8g

Had to order the record.

I think it's a good album. There's variety, something that was missing from the latter albums that seemed a bit tasteless like someone mentioned earlier. Phoenix does sound a bit odd though, I'll have to give it a few proper listens

Unsuspectadely classy, calm and unpretentious album. Probably their best and most mature effort so far.

I haven't heard any Satyricon since Now, Diabolical... but yeah, the impression from the few tracks I've heard is that it definitely sounds calm...but I'm not sure if I want to listen to "calm" metal!
Sounds like there are some interesting riffs, but the overall lack of attack/bite makes it sound more tired than calm. Not so keen on the production either.

What the fuck happened with the production?, sounds like they just mix everything without mastering the tracks at all, the voice sounds so fucking awful, and the track its boring as hell.
