Vocals totally ruin this album for me. I find them obnoxious and distracting. If they were buried in the mix more, or simply not as frequent I could get past them but they are pretty much non stop and loud as hell. Monotonous, could really use some variation.

Sorry to hear that, bud.

I find the album too musically (or instrumentally) of interest to find myself caring much about the vocals, however I do agree with you that the vocals are the low point of the album. The singing is just generic, done without entire conviction.

Meh, I enjoyed the CC/Coo split much better than this.

That's good and all, but unless there's a reissue (much needed) of that split, I'm going to probably end up missing out on that release. Which sucks, I've heard nothing but great remarks.

A second vinyl pressing of Ylistys will come in 2014 so, unless you really really want to, don't overspend on a copy at ebay / discogs / where ever.

Good to know. By the way, NWN! just had some first pressings a few days ago. Of course it is sold out by now. But I did manage to purchase a copy for myself. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

...Oh, I like the vocals! Pretty Burzum indeed, but I like that. I thought more of Silenius' vocals on some Abigor actually too.

Best of 2013 for me.
Vocals are just fine, no operatic skills needed in the genre. Unless you are that dude from Arkha Sva.

I second the notion that the vocals ruin the album. I LOVE the instrumentation, but the vocals are so annoying to me.

Glad im not alone. The latest album was perhaps the worst CC release yet. I hope next run is better.

Those I like! It's the monotonous shrieking that I don't care for. No complaints about the music, though.

BTW- awesome avatar. "HE WAS LICKING ME!!!"
