Interesting cover art too, I don't know if it's for the single, or if that's the title and cover of the next album.

Thoughts on the music itself?

Brilliant. Amazing band, and I love the direction they're going in. That last album of theirs was outstanding as well.

Very much enjoyed it. I feel like I never give Odes of the Occult enough spins.....

Absolutely LOVED Odes to the Occult which is SUCH an underrated album... Fucking killer DM album

That new track? Meh... Again what's with almost all recent Scandinavian DM bands going all too prog? Too many useless little pieces of riffs...

Odes is indeed brilliant. Execration caught me completely unguarded at the last KTDF.

As for this track being too prog - easy there, chap, let it sink in a few more listens (you can thank me later for this bit of brilliant advice Wink).

They have this somewhat "loose" technical quality which I love in acts like Metal Funeral era Autopsy and e.g. Diskord.
All sounding real, natural and not edited to death (in a bad way).

I agree. A little bit of filigree can elevate a death metal record above the crowd as long as it's not overdone or overly Pro Tooled.

Yep, loose technicality is the perfect word. And this song does need repeated listens to sink in for sure. Very catchy too once you spin it two or three times.

You've nailed it there.

The first album 'Syndicate of Lethargy' didn't really draw me back with any memory to comment on. I have it, but it's like an unknown album. 'Odes of the Occult' on the other hand is stellar.

This new song though does feel... less ode to any occult and more worship to progtastic death Wink

Yeah, I noticed this too (Morbus Chron, Tribulation, Necrovation, etc). I don't have a problem with it per se, but it's interesting to say the least. Wonder what other bands will "evolve" and "mature".

This track isn't doing much for me. Too much "randomness'' for my ears to handle.
