There's an obvious difference between early and late RW, and while I still like the first three albums a lot I find myself returning to the power metal albums more often. For me it's a tie between Death or Glory and The Rivalry, all records contain a couple of classics but those two have at least 4-5 outstanding songs on them.

Shadowmaker was left out on purpose (10 options limit + I doubt there's someone out there who would really take that one over the other albums).

Albums between Port Royal and Pile of Skulls: these are "late" RW albums? Personally Pile of Skulls is the last truly classic album.

Rogues en Vogue is propably the best of the later ones. Despite the awful sound production but Libertalia alone is that good.

I really like Angel of Mercy from Rogues, it does remind me a lot of Sisters of Mercy though. Pile of Skulls is definitely my favorite out of these, especially the title track is one of their finest moments. Death or Glory comes really close, followed by Port Royal

Black Hand Inn. The earlier stuff is classic too, but this one is an all-time favorite.

Stopped following after Rivalry to save myself from bitter disappointment.

Black Hand Inn and Masquerade!!! To be honest though I haven't voted because I love all their stuff. (Except that last album- oh and their 'last' show which was pretty crap too).

Port Royal had the ultimate Running Wild line-up. Stefan Schwarzmann's drumming on that album is among the catchiest and most powerful performances on any metal record, and the band was never quite the same after he left. Death or Glory, although coming very close, doesn't feel quite as magical.

It's always annoyed me that after the amazing partnerships Jens Becker had with Schwarzmann, Ian Finlay and to a lesser degree that dude on Blazon Stone, Rolf decided to consistently build his rhythm sections by coupling mind-numbingly unimaginative bass players with trigger-happy and mechanical drummers.

Black Hand Inn. Like the other albums I've heard, but this is the only one I think rocks front to back.

Can't believe I'm the only one who enjoys The Rivalry. Several amazing songs on that one.
