They had an (well deserved) career in the 70ies and (sadly) split up in 1982.

fix'd

A decade is quite a timespan to start namedropping even whole genres.

But:
- Neue Deutsche Welle (Ina Dieter!!)
- Neofolk
- New Romanticism
- Italo Disco
- Synthdriven powerpop overall
- "Modern" Noise

and it goes on and on and on and on...

Ey! Surprised

I can tolerate a lot of cheesiness when it comes to 80ies Synthpop, but 70ies mainstream-crap like Abba or the Bee Gees really makes me aggressive.

Besides Black Sabbath and some early Punk-bands from the USA, this decade does nothing for me at all (not counting certain bands that started out in the late 70ies). Probably because I can't really connect to this Zeitgeist.

Thumbs up!
Was this a name- or an opinion-dropping topic?
ABBA kicks ass but I only know/own their 70's albums.

@ into the pit: Thanks for Bärchen und die Milchbubis. Never heard of em but I love it!

Oh my god, how could I forget the magical "Floating into the Night" by Julee Cruise! One of my most favorite records ever!

Pardon me, I sometimes forget that this is not really a forum but more a marketing blog with "new this, new that" and boring listings of random users who don't interact with each other.

Oh that Julee Cruise album !!!!!

It's like the most ethereal music ever made... Just fullblown amazent..

Ok I've watched Twin Peaks a bit under thirty times (not kidding, greatest series ever made) but that fucking record...

I must admit I didn't even remember that Floating Into the Night was released before the series. Best from the 80's
