Necrophobic will release their new album Womb Of Lilithu in late October.
They will precede the full length with a digital single 'Splendour Nigri Solis' through Spotify, released on August 19th. Season Of Mist is the label this time. single artwork:
it's noteworthy that the guitarist from Bloodhymns, Hrimthursum and Death To All, and the longer running guitarist from Darkside through Death To All have left the band and have been replaced by Dismember guitarist Robert Sennebäck and Unleashed guitarist Fredrik Folkare.

considering Ramstedt is now gone, makes me a little wary, but the last Unleashed album, Odalheim, sounded a lot like Necrophobic to me and that reassures me a bit. and well, Dismember is Dismember so no problems there.

Death to All was a masterpiece so I have high expectations for this.

Heh. Is anything post-Darkside really worth grabbing? I've only hear bits and pieces but haven't really been impressed by any of it. Demos + first two albums fantastic though.

It's all pretty good. I'm not the biggest Necrophobic fan but I spin an album once in a while and I think the last two are actually very good. Catchy yet no compromise old-school black/death metal, with a breath of modern thrown it in which makes it pretty unique too. I think they're much better than other similar bands. Will be listening to this one for sure.

personally i own the entire discography, i think they're all good. nocturnal silence, darkside, and death to all are my favorites though.

I thought it was perfectly mediocre, nothing noteworthy at all.

Death to all was a great record. Sharp guitar riffs, vocals of blood and Thunder and good songs. For Those Who Stayed Satanic is pretty much the Die Fahne Hoch of Necrophobic. It is a marching song for followers of the adversary. The album cover contributes to the feeling.
It also feels like the band worked hard on the lyrics
"As night descend over Eden
A dust cloud emerges that shadows the moon
The wind sweeps cold and vile
Ashes form a blackened dune

We came as their prayers were dying
The wind carried a contorted psalm
Envenomed the words of the blind
Inhaling our whispers unknowingly calm"

I don't know, I think you better go back and spin Darkside again... some seriously good songs on that album. Actually I think I like it even more than the debut.

This band has been terribly average since 1999... before this time, they were killer.

What?
If you pour sugar into your black coffee, will it still be black?

you're free to do that, but it's been 20 years since they sounded like their early stuff! i can't imagine why you thought this new album had the possibility to sound like that, maybe the new guitarists?
