I stayed there last year and thought it was okay bar the breakfast which was poor selection wise. Room was nice enough and wifi was reliable. As I travelled alone it was the best price closest to venue. Staying elsewhere myself this year though.

If you don't mind elaborating, what did they have for breakfast? My wife and I are looking forward to a free breakfast, hahaha. Thanks for the feedback.

I also heard that the place is alright. My friend and I will most likely be taking cab rides to get back there after Ram's Head. Fuck walking all the way back there at 2 am.

Latest news, The Secret's US tour fell apart, so Coffins will be playing a second set at Soundstage in their place.

Thanks for the feedback, as well!

I'm a bit disappointed that The Secret can't play. I was curious to check them out. Seeing Coffins a second time that weekend will be cool, though.

Going a little off-topic I'd like you ask you: is it possible to go from Baltimore to Washington in the morning and then going to the fest, let's say, starting 17hrs?

I have time constraints and would like to visit Washington even though for a very short time.

Thank you in advance.

driving from baltimore to DC will take you a little under an hour, and then parking in the city might be difficult. so, yes, visiting DC is definitely doable. just make sure to plan an hour for driving there and then another hour for driving back.

Thank you for the reply. I don't have a driving license (I can't even drive, my bad) but I will have to take either a bus or a train to Washington. Will do my best within my time constraints when I'm there.

Thanks again.

I just checked Greyhound bus for that weekend and it would cost you $20-$30 round trip.

My friend and I are actually taking Greyhound rather than me driving up there and paying for parking. Our tickets cost us $17 each. Cool

Take the Marc, it runs on weekends now and is $7 each way or $10 if you pay on the train. Convenient boarding points in both cities too.

Greyhound's fine. I did the same earlier this year for the A389 Bash.

I've never taken the train MARC nor have I ever looked into it until now. $7 one way to/from DC is a damn good deal haha

That's good to know. It was a giant PITA that MARC didn't run on weekends -- now my lazy-as-fuck DC friends have no excuses for not coming up for a beer or two before I head into the show. Laughing

Re: Mount Vernon. Stayed there two years ago. Experience was totally fine, except the walls are thin, so if someone in the room next to you decides to have a post-fest party, you're gonna hear every fucking word they say. Trying to remember the breakfasts -- IIRC, it's typical fare: cereal or oatmeal, or biscuits/gravy, eggs, pancakes, grits, etc. Nothing fancy, but totally serviceable.

Anybody have some extra space in their hotel room willing to split the costs? I'm heading out by myself and don't feel like spending a fortune on a room. Thanks.

Still haven't found a room that doesn't cost over $1000 for a few nights. If anyone has space, please let me know. Everything is booked up around the venue.

Try Hotel Vernon for a room, I just canceled my weekend stay there, Th-Sun was like ~500. May be gone already or prices changed though, made the reservation a looong time ago.

Looking for a Saturday pass over here (for Rams Head). If anyone happens to have one (or two) that they no longer need, please send a PM.

So does anyone know which of these is actually the correct running order and times for MDF? Seems like there's a bit of misinformation on their page.
