Booked Mount Vernon last night, i've had friends that stay there every year. It was like $30 cheaper per night than Holiday Inn I think.

I think I'll be there this year as well. Had a blast last year. Which hotel do you locals recommend the best, near the venue? Last year I was pretty far away and it was expensive for nothing, so I want to rely more on recommendations. Thanks!

The closest two that are right in between the venues are the Sleep Inn and Holiday Inn Express (right next to each other) as far as I know. Sleep Inn is cool as the staff is pretty laid back and allow people to drink on the porch out front and BBQ for the guests over the weekend. Both usually sell out rather quickly.

Thanks man! Anything else that might be a little more budget friendly?

I'm not sure. It's definitely pricey, but with 4/5 people in a room like my friends and I are doing it's affordable since it breaks down to each person paying for one night (less if the 5th person does indeed come and crash on the floor or in the tub Cool ) . I think the extra cost is worth it, considering the convenience of the location. That's me though, good luck finding something that works for you !

Mount Vernon Hotel will be cheaper than the Sleep or HIX and is actually closer to the new location than the old. If that's still too steep, do like Blodhemn said and pile people into the room so it'll be more affordable.

Either that or find someone local to stay with. Pretty much everyone knows someone here in Baltimore. Get dibs on the couch before someone else does.

If you guys haven't seen the facebook event page, I'd suggest taking a look. Some hilarious posts on there. The "Burzum reunion" one is a true gem.

OK, just reserved a room at Mount Vernon hotel. Thanks for the tips guys! 13 minutes walk is close enough, and it's cheap as fuck. Cheers!

Yep. I noticed that as well. But I agree that this is a pretty good work-around to an essentially unsolvable problem. And I definitely appreciate having the festival stay in downtown Baltimore, with the travel and amenities convenience.

Anyway, looking forward to this. Booked the hotel room and am currently planning the annual Friday beer crawl -- and sussing out places to watch the Champions League final on Saturday. Last year, we got stuck at a hotel bar with a couple of Central American MDF attendees, because the moronic barmaid at the place we had been drinking apparently couldn't work a TV remote. the Motel 6 cost two hundred and twenty one dollars for 4 nights plus 14 percent tax.it appears to be eight miles away from the parking lot / venue ..not bad for me since I'm driving down anyways and I'm going to have a vehicle...I stayed at Mount Vernon last 2 years and they pretty much rape you..example of a hidden fees they charge you 20 bucks a day to park your car..I vowed never to go again after last year's debaucle with the long wait just getting into the place and the horrible outdoor tent but this year they going to have a much larger parking lot as well as an indoor venue. But after the announcement of coffins mitochondrian sacrifice machetazo necros.diocletion witchrist mgla cancer candlemass...fuck I cant miss this

Room booked at Holiday Inn Express for $130 a night. I'm old and out of shape so having a close hotel on a piping hot day to shower and shit in is worth the extra cash. Last couple of years I booked a room at Sleep Inn that had two beds and a sleeper sofa because I had a good size crew staying. But they are getting expensive and the total for 4 days last year was almost $1200. And they pulled that shit with the bracelets for the people staying there to crack down on piling people in your room and not paying extra. So anyone booking there and planning on filling up your room be aware they will probably do the same this year.

For those booking Holiday Inn Express, are you booking directly through their site or a 3rd party site?
