i saw bolt thrower on staten island in the early 90s and it was a ok turnout. i saw autopsy on the acts of the unspeakable tour and it was a small turnout. i would go up to yonkers in the early 90s and see immolation and prime evil, also a tiny turnout. im glad these bands get respect today. but i still think immolation is grossly under appreciated.

but another annoying trend is people in magazines talking/ reviewing about records they don't even own hard copies of. thats some faggot shit from some passive aggressive "sick files" "internet expert" faggot ass faggots.

Posters with coverart are great, when there's only the artwork and no logos/names etc. Posters with a bandpic most likely works for kids.

Agreed with this. Only exceptions are Iron Maiden/Priest/Sabbath/Slayer etc and other godly bands for me.

The biggest trend is the growing self awareness of metalheads finally acknowledging their genres' foibles and ridiculousness.

#metalhipsterbeforeitwascool.

Easily the most annoying aspect of underground music in the last decade. These people can go get fucked.

I have been in the DM world for over 20 years, and trust me, AUTOPSY and BOLT THROWER were not nearly as loved from 1990-1995 as the have been since say 2009 to now.

In my experience 1990-1995 yes they were. They always had big features in Kerrang/Thrash N' Burn/Raw and I even saw a few shirts about in my small town at that time.

People went crazy for both bands in the UK at least during this time period.

EDIT:Spelling

AUTOPSY and INCANTATION did a show in NYC in 1993 to about maybe 60 or 70 people.
BOLT THROWER were too busy cancelling US tours in the early 90's...they did like 1.

The following can suck it:

- 2 man bands
- bands with no bass player
- bands who ONLY MAKE CASSETTES
- most "Metal Journalists"
- the website Metalsucks

1.'lost','forgotten', 'buried by time' Swedish/Finnish death metal 'gems'.
2.Hindu/Indian symbolism and the third world getting all wet about it and somehow feel a sense of kinship and connection.
3.Ancient metal of Death, 'cavernous', 'tortuous', 'subterranean','ritualistic' black/death
4.NS Posturing and make subtle references to WWII, The Holocaust and then subsequently go on to intellectualize it ,Esoteric Nazism, romantic fascism.
5.This whole Integrity, purity, strength,Honor, wisdom 'waldgang' 'return to/glory of the old days' Horse wad.
6.Metalpunxxx, Alkoholik black 'n roll, lukewarm Black thrash attakk.
7.Black/Death musicians and their Noise, ambient side projects.

EDIT : Will to power, Clueless journalists/musicians and their tiresome Nietzche, redbeard questions/quotes.
