Just wanted to take a poll to see what format is the most preferred here.

All of the above, price sometimes factors into it.

And mainly CDs when I was younger, even though I would buy records at shows or shops. I can indulge a little more with better income. LPs are fucking expensive.

Can you elaborate?

Which one do you prefer the most? That's the one I'd like to see people vote on.

Jewel case CDs. Nowadays a lot of labels are releasing CDs in flimsy little digipaks that fall apart (I'm looking at you Van!). If it's between digipak, jewel case, and vinyl, I'll pick the jewel case CD 8/10 of the time. Fuck digipaks. And tapes are really only good for demos. Vinyl is kind of a mixed bag. Some things just scream "must have on wax" to me, but most doesn't. There's no need to pay 2x the price for the same album just to be able to post in the recent vinyl scores thread.

The only one don't buy is digital, no one format is supreme.

Prefer vinyl.

NWN will release a cd and vinyl. 5 vs 15-18. If I'm short on cash I'm going the cd route. Also if I'm unsure about the album as a whole, since I can't always find time to stream the whole thing, I might go with a 5 dollar cd.

If I really like it I will buy the LP. I think LPs are the better format for the experience, the artwork and sound if the recording is done right, but some of them get to be too expensive unless you are a die hard fan. I personally won't spend 25-30 on an album that just has extra colors. Extra music added for extra money is a different story.

Sorry if this sounds confusing. In a perfect world where I had Scrooge McDuck money I would buy everything on vinyl.

I do like the combo packs where you can add the cd for 5-6 more. Worth it for the car.

Vinyl. I'll also buy tapes and Cds if it's not on vinyl.

I like vinyl and cheap CDs. I'll usually add on the CD if the label offers a bundle with both, but the CD is mostly just to put on the computer.

I prefer vinyl but have been buying a few cd's lately first time in years this is because of vinyl prices i.e. too many diehards lavish editions etc.. at times.

Postage is becoming the largest determining factor.
