Any other examples of the kind of demented-yet-catchy* vocal styles that Naudiz use on their demo and Clandestine Blaze use on the track 'Culling Species'? I don't mean clean 'Viking' style vocals a la Isengard but something that still has that extreme edge?

*obviously not talking about pop hooks and close harmonies here, but something that adds more to the track than regular BM and DM vocal patterns.

I figured that was just Mikko's part in Vapaudenristi carrying over. A lil RAC tint going on there. That'd be the avenue to dig through.

I have never heard either of those songs... However, Capricornus sounds like what I imagine a Berzerker to sound like especially on the song "Sunwheel on the Helmet of Steel".

Berzerker vocals make me think of Der Stürmer, Absurd and, to a lesser extent, from one of my (most likely already buried) bands, Impervious. In other words, shout/growl that doesn't always exactly keep up with the rhythm and focuses on getting as much energy and noise out from the throat as possible without sounding like a wanker. Perfect.

That term always makes me think of Paul Baloff's barbaric and hysterical style.

As soon as I checked out that CB song I thought of Landser.

I figure recent years' Absurd chants like "Wenn valkyrien reiten" fits the description?

also, the CB vocals reminded me of LIPID https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsy8_RnZSMo
