I profess in advance my knowledge of techno/house/EDM/IDM is limited, theonly stuff that has really grabbed me has been some Aphex Twin, Global Communication, Photek, Biosphere, I guess the more ambient artists, I have tried Burial and it didn't really move me. Any suggestions are totally welcome, if they fit with the parameters I described or not. Razz

First suggestion would be Boards of Canada. I'm totally unashamed to say they are one of my top 5 favorite musical projects. I'm mostly into IDM/Minimal stuff and what they used to call "isolationism" (ie menacing industrial-tinged Dub), so I cant do much about suggesting house etc. Perhaps jump on torrents and download a couple of comps:

Warp records - "we are reasonable people"
Isolationism compilation
Swarm of Drones compilation
Some of the Ninja Tunes comps
Some of the Dub Temple comps.

You'll find some gems there for sure.

Very nice. I've always loved that Halloween themed death rock/horror punk (whatever you wanna call it)

Sleep in Safety is essential.
