Can anyone recommend bands in that vein and/or psychedelic seventies style Death Metal (no, I'm not joking about that). Thank you all very much!

Try this:

Belial - Never Again.

still death/ black metal with some origin and delicate 70ies / psychedelic vibe .

Always thought Hooded Menace had a lot of Amorphis sound to them.

For sure but i dont know them they are newer one i guess

Never Again from Belial is from 1994 and cant compared too much with Amorphis
but it fits in the term of Black / Death with a special hidden 70ies / psychedelic inspiration. They were in the same time/ scene ..

But its a very unique album imo

Wolverine Blues clones, I don't think there's anything closer to that. Furbowl, Korpse, Coughdust, unless you had something in mind closer to Tribulation's new album. I can't really think of any death metal bands sounding like 70's psych music.

You are pretty much on the spot with Korpse and Tribulation.

As far as I know this album is totally unique. Everyband that I can think of that has psychadelic influences sounds totally different from Amorphis.

Probably my favorite psychedelic death metal album. Not really the same deal as the Amorphis though, I really can't think of another band that sounds like that.

They don't really sound much like Amorphis but Alchemist were amazing psychedelic death metal from Australia. Check out the albums Lunasphere and Spiritech

Never heard the Amorphis album(s) you're referring to, but stuff like Swano-Moontower, first coupla Traumatic Voyage albums, and first two Incubator albums might interest you. I doubt any of them are quite what you're looking for, but they might be close enough. Or not. Very Happy

edit: lol shit, just realized you meant Thousand Lakes. I thought they had some newer album called 1000, LOL. None of the stuff I suggested has any real resemblance to it; they just have a hard-rock vibe (or psychedelic, in TV's case), more or less.
