Nothing special. I prefer WARHAMMER (GER).

World War III - third of the storms is my favorite. each song combines a certain style of metal with Hellhammer riffing and sound. very varied album, not as heavy as "the return of..." though.

new warhammer sucks big time. their only release worth getting is curse of the absolute eclipse.

And while we're at it: "I am a Metal Head" is one of the dumbest and worst songs ever and to have it as an opener on an album is truly artistic suicide.

....unless it is a reminiscence for "Mexican Radio" on ITP?

Great band, anyone know where I can get Vol.4 - Phonocopia vinyl for a normal price, it is the only one I'm missing. I missed the 1 euro copy that was on ebay.

If you don't like Apokalyptic Raids, you should die in a apocalyptic attack of some sort.

You should also check out Tyrant - "Reclaim the Flame"

And "I'm a metalhead" is a great song

I listened to some album of theirs years ago, and the only thing I could think was "for a band that so blatantly rips off Hellhammer's song titles and visuals, they really don't sound that much like Hellhammer". I can't really remember why, maybe the guitar tone or something. I should probably revisit.

Killer band. Each album they did sounds different. The debut is more primitive, with drums reminiscent of Von, "The Return of the Satanic Rites" is my favorite, great vibe all over the place. "The Third Storm" is very varied and has some EPIC moments and the last one sounds like an album that was recorded between "The Return..." and "3rd Storm".

Warhammer's discography recycles the same Hellhammer riffs again and again, while AR adds many other influences from other styles of metal (also some punk). That's why AR is far from sounding "precisely like Hellhammer".

Personally I like both WH and AR, but it doesn't make much sense to compare them.
