you know it: a 7" ready to spin. put it on the turntable. start it. then sitting down (opening a beer or a woman) and then it's the wrong speed. only because you see two songs on a side and think it's maybe 45 rpm but it is 33 1/3 - and you could have avoided that trouble if only the labels would have printed the correct speed on the vinyl label?! I hate that! Evil or Very Mad

that would be the same as if you would translate a goethe poem into suaheli - the wrong one is not as precious as the original

If I press a 7" I always print the rpm on the labels since this is something which annoys me too !

I just had this problem! Was putting Die Hard's Mercenaries of Hell on at 45 rpm, while it has to be on 33 1/3 rmp...
I really hate this too! It always makes me doubt before I put on a record which I don't spin often.

First world problems.

If I ever play in a band that's good enough to release a 7", I'll look into seeing whether it's possible to have one song at 45 and one song at 33 on the same side. If it is, I'll press it like that.

I don't think this is possible, but I have several 7"s with one side in 33 and one in 45 rpm.

If you're going to point that out every time it comes up, it'd be more efficient to add it to your signature.

I'm all for putting the speed on the record, especially if your production is tinny and bad.

Also, printing which side is which. Or at least something like "Heavy" and "Metal" or "Crushing" and "Christ's Balls".
