Nattestid ser porten vid is a really good album. Start there and go forth. I would skip Taake(2008) and jump over to Noregs Vaapen directly.

Yeah, Nattestid is a fantastic black metal album, first one i heard from him.

As far as riffs go, I'd say Hordalands takes the cake.

First 2 albums and the most recent album are great.

If you like black metal, you'll probably like at least the first two albums. It wasn't in vogue to hate them until recently.

I've noticed this as well. They were nothing but praised from 2005 to 2010 up.

What's with the strong words? If a band goes sour you don't just go from love to hate instantly, do you? I just grew (or didn't) in a different direction than the band and they lost appeal. There's no hate here, just indifference.

This may be the case with many many bands but for some you just have to know every album by every band whose name is a bit spread.

Anyway, they're a good live band even if on album they bore me a lot.

I only have Bjoergvin and I find it enjoyable. I couldn't give less of a shit about the kissy pictures and the swastikas and the "hanging chads".

Nattestid is okay.

Indeed. On a totally unrelated note - (looking at your avatar), are you aware that TP is probably being re-released on BluRay? Quite excited for that...! I already have the 720p TV rip but this will be pretty cool I think.

I'm more excited about the long lost director's cut of Blue Velvet finally coming out, and the Criterion Collection edition of Eraserhead. I'm hoping that the uncut version of Fire Walk With Me might finally get scored & released. Apparently the theatrical version is missing HOURS of footage.

This sums up my feelings. Perhaps they've released some material that I'd hate, but the stuff I've heard just leaves me saying "meh". From what I remember the first couple albums were OK, but nothing spectacular.

Yes like heroin Taake is too addict! Or like famous Pringles pop and cant stop!

Too much bash of band that blow away modern craps like latest Norway flavor boyubands from so gay "Nidaros". Any such band have yet to equal Nattstid in all but xerox cover of demos in fake old times style.
